Life is slowing down......

Well, life is almost back to normal around here. McKennon is ready to head to San Francisco to see his grandpa, Haile is in the last few weeks of her summer vacation, and my 20th reunion is over and done with.

I must say, we had a great time....but it was exhausting. Now I know why you only do it every 10 years. We had great beer on Friday night, danced until they kicked us out Saturday night (then spent 3 more hours poolside), and went to putt-putt where we put up with the intense heat and a swarm of wasps under our canopy. I saw a bunch of old friends that I really missed, and of course, saw some that I could live without seeing for another 10 years. Overall, I am so glad we went, it was worth all the time and effort I put into it....and boy, was it an expensive venture.

Here is a picture of my friends Melissa and Steph. I see them about once every 5 years.

The Omni was beautiful and fairly inexpensive for the accommodations.

It's been awhile......

Well, I decided it was time to make a new post. There is a lot going on around our household. I am on vacation and have packed these 8 days with fun, and stress. Monday we did a trial run for Haile's senior pics. I think for the first time, we didn't do too bad. I just have a hard time handing some photographer $500 of my hard earned money, when I think I can do a pretty good job. I have added a few for your enjoyment = )

McKennon is here from Missouri for his birthday. I kinda forgot how it was living with a 14 year old boy.

My 20 year reunion is this weekend....and I seem to be running around trying to get everything in order. I am on the commitee, and there seems to be one disaster after another. We will be staying at the Omni hotel on Saturday night. I am SO excited. It is beautiful. The kids are selling memory books and taking money at the door.

We are heading back to Rocky Mountain National Park tonight, to camp for 2 whole days. I still haven't caught a flippin' fish. I did purchase a new pole today, and McKennon hooked me up with all the right bait. Hopefully, I will be adding a picture of my beautiful fish in the next post.

I am sure I will have a huge post in the coming week. Get your cocktails ready and we can chat soon.

It's about that time again......

Well, we are about to head out again for a camping trip (Thursday). It will be just the two of us this time. We have reserved a site that we haven't been to before. I hope it lives up to DD's standards. We did purchase a single burner stove this evening. I was thinking that he could make coffee early....and not have to worry about making a fire and keep it going until we were ready for breakfast. We shall see how it works.
I bought 3 tank like dresses to wear. They are SO comfy, and I won't get awful tan lines. I am not very attractive in any of them, but, I don't really care what people think.
We met tonight with my high school reunion committee. Everything seems to be coming together. There are 3 of us organizing the whole thing. We have a room booked at the Omni, where the main night will take place. It was reasonably priced ....and the kids can swim during the day. It is a beautiful hotel and I am sure we will enjoy our stay. It is taking place the weekend of July 25th. McKennon will be here, so I am looking very forward to it. He will turn 15 on the 26th...but has to spend his special day selling memory books and checking people in. He will just be happy that he is in Colorado spending time with his family = )
I need to get some rest, (this had been a hard week...and it's only Tuesday) so, I am off to lala land!

More pics from July 3rd...

Since I sucked at adding all of these when we returned from our last camping trip....I will add them now. Enjoy!

It's time to fish......

Well, DD and I are off work today, and since we couldn't camp (4th of July weekend is SO booked at all the campgrounds) I decided we should try our hands at fishing again. We are just heading over to Standley Lake. It's about 5 minutes from us. I have no idea how we will do, but I will die trying....that's for sure. I am only asking to catch one fish this whole summer. I will release the little guy. No harm, I swear.
Haile is heading out shortly to buy her annual license, I already have mine. DD isn't really into fishing. He will take pics (I am sure most will be very unattractive ones of me) and set up the canopy that we have yet to use. It is warm, but not too hot here today. Lots of billowy white clouds in the sky. Our little adventure will only last a few hours....but, I hope to get a lot accomplished in that time. Here I come...fishy, fishy, fishy!

We're back...

We have returned home and had a wonderful time. This is going to be mostly pictures, as I don't have enough energy to write much. It was hot today, and it sucked the life out of me. Enjoy!

It's Thursday.....

We are about to embark on another camping trip. In 6 hours we should be on the road to Rocky Mountain National park. This time Haile and a friend will be joining us. I woke bright and early so I could hit the local WalMart before coming to work. I managed to spend $120, on things we absolutely needed...not. I picked up a fire ring, another queen sized air bed, two fishing poles, a fishing license, a canopy (so DD doesn't get heat stroke... his mom will be so proud), and a bunch of food. I thought camping was suppose to be cheap??? I suppose once we purchase all the staples, it won't seem as though we could have stayed at the Ritz for the same amount of money we spend on marshmallow cheese and paper plates.
Why is it that I always get stuck at work before we are suppose to leave town? I am itching to get out and one thing after another delay my departure. Maybe it only seems that way because I am excited and "I want to camping NOW"...not at 3pm. Wish us good weather and no wildlife that might wander into our site. There will be plenty of pictures to post when we get home. Look forward to them.
